Helping you see and share the information that matters.

After spending countless hours managing, searching for, and organizing information in our previous jobs, we needed a better way. So we created Legislata to solve the headaches we were encountering every day. Now political offices, political risk analysts, journalists, and others can spend time on the work we want to do, not the hassles we have to get through.

We are built on five core ideas:

  1. We work with information and getting through it quickly is key.

  2. Our information does not stand alone - instead it connects us to legislation, an issue, or a political actor, amongst other things.

  3. We may need information that originates outside our offices, or we may need to reach beyond our (virtual) walls with communications like a press release. Connecting the right information to the right audience is currently one of the biggest challenges.

  4. Artificial intelligence and automation can help us access information that would otherwise be inaccessible because it’s buried in a PDF or 3 hours into a local government meeting.

  5. But AI can only be a supplement for the knowledge and context of people who work in politics.

Why Legislata?

There are plenty of productivity tools and legislative databases out there already. So what makes Legislata different?

Quite simply, Legislata makes the public record freely available.

Legislative informational services can be great products. But many of us only need some basic information, like the transcript of a hearing where we have a bill pending. We either spend more than we’d like on that service, or we spend time we don’t have watching the hearing.

We believe there should be another way and, thanks to advances in AI and our sponsors, we are committed to making that kind of information available to everyone. Read that transcript, share it, quote it - no paywalls at all.

Additionally, Legislata knows that this world is a community, not just customers.

Create your own feed to share the information that you have with those who need it. Whether you’re an engaged citizen who wants to make town meeting information more accessible, a policy analyst who finds that newsletters aren’t the right fit for sharing stakeholder profiles, or an organization that wants to get their message out, we facilitate connections to let information find the audience that needs it.

More creator tools to help you monetize your insights are in the works.
